UNIOR PLANNING BOARD MEETING

 

There will be a junior planning board meeting today, the 18th, in room D301 (Mrs. Hernandez’s room).  We will be discussing locations for prom and fundraising ideas.  All juniors are invited to come and give us your input.

HOSA members, this year’s t-shirts are now here!  They are $5 and you can pick them up in Ms. Garza’s room anytime this week.

There will be a junior planning board meeting next Tuesday, the 18th, in room D301 (Mrs. Hernandez’s room).  We will be discussing locations for prom and fundraising ideas.  All juniors are invited to come and give us your input.

HIP HOP TEAM FUNDRAISER

Your Hip-Hop Dance Team, The Hurricane Hawks, will have Holiday Candy-Grams on sale starting next week. You can purchase a special treat for a friend, and/or your favorite faculty or staff member. The Candy-Grams will be delivered Thursday, December 20th, during 3rd period classes. So show someone you care and purchase a Holiday Candy-Gram next week!

DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT

The sign-up deadline for dodgeball is the end of the school day today. Please see Mr. Prange in B202 for sign up sheets. The fee is $5 per person for a 6 person team. The defending champion administration team is ready and WILL DEFEND their title, so come take the opportunity to throw things at Dr. Ledbetter.

Our next meeting is today after school at 3:30pm if you didn’t come to this morning’s meeting. If you are unable to attend, you must give Ms. Wilson advance notice in writing.

Birdville Hockey beat Arlington Wild 3 to 0 last night. Way to go!!!

ID REMINDERS

This is just a friendly reminder to all students: You must have your IDs on at all times while in the building during the school hours of 7:30am to 4:30pm. Failure to do so will result in an office referral.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet this Friday in Art Lab 3.  All are welcome to come and be a part of FCA!

BIRDVILLE HOCKEY

The Birdville Hockey team defeated the number one team in the league, Colleyville Heritage, last night in an overtime shootout.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

SENIOR PEN SALES

Any items that need correcting MUST be brought to Nurse Amy by 9am in the morning tomorrow.

MATH TEAM

The Math Team competed this weekend at the Paschal Math Invitational. Results are as follows:

Kadin Norder: 6th place math
Meredith Shiflet: 4th place calculator
Lananh Tran: 1st place calculator

Whose Line has been moved to Monday, December 10th at 7pm in the Birdville Auditorium. Come to be entertained… and maybe you’ll be picked from the audience to participate in the show. Tickets are only $2 in advance and $4 at the door. You can buy your tickets at lunch or from any senior STUCO officer. The main entertainers are as follows:

SENIORS – HERFF JONES/GRADUATION INFO

Herff Jones/Graduation Services will be back on campus Thursday, December 6th during lunches. This will be the last time for them to be on campus this semester. If you do not place your cap and gown order now, you will have to pay a shipping fee.

Just a reminder that Hip-Hop Team tryouts are today after school at 3:45pm in the cafeteria. If you have any questions regarding this announcement please speak with Coach Williams in B104.

CHRISTMAS BOXES

If you would still like to donate to the Christmas Boxes, we are in need of toothpaste and hairbrushes. Please bring your donations to the clinic, and remember that each item is worth 10 minutes of community service.

ROBOTICS TEAM

The Robotics Team is recruiting and we need you. If you are artistic, if you can build things, if you like to be organized, do research and planning… we can use you!

You have skills the robotics team can use! We will be meeting today immediately after school in A204. Put your skills to good use and join the team.

See Mr. Franklin in A204 or one of the team members if you have any questions.

ASVAB

Junior and Senior students interested in taking the ASVAB test need to sign up in the counseling office. This test will be given in the Lecture Hall on the morning of Dec. 6th. The results of this test will give you info on career possibilities that match your skills and abilities. This test is given by the military, but you are in no way obligated to talk to a recruiter or enlist in any branch of service.

For more information, stop by the counseling office.

GUITAR HERO CLUB

This Thursday the GH Club will meet in D202… Coach Hays’ room. See you there!

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

There are 2 volunteer opportunities for this month posted outside Ms. Wilson’s room.

VOLLEYBALL RECOGNITIONS

Three of the varsity volleyball players made the Academic All-State Team for 2007. They are: Alicia Brown, Samantha Smith, and Nicole Vanderlaan. Congratulations to these seniors for an outstanding job on the court and in the classroom!

CREATIVE WRITING CLUB

The Creative Writing Club will meet today right after school in Mr. Freeman’s room – B304.
