SPECIAL OLYMPICS ANNOUNCEMENT

  JoAnne Ferris, the coach of Birdville Special Olympics would like to thank Coach Hatcher, Coach Chaney, and the Birdville Hawks Baseball team for helping out with the annual Mini-meet.  It was a big success because of your willingness to volunteer your time to help our athletes.  They all had a great day! We would also like to recognize the BHS Special Olympics athletes on the great job they did at the meet.  Those who participated were:  Addison Moffeit, Matt Brinkley, Kristin Goode, Cherell Hale, Ryan Wagley, and Brianna Thomas.  Great job!  

TAFE 

TAFE Members – If you are planning on attending the state leadership conference to be held in Frisco March 28^th & 29^th, you must attend the information meeting on Thursday, March 6^th at 3:30pm or Friday, March 7^th at 7:30am in Room A203.  All permission forms, sign up sheets, lodging information and more will be distributed at the meeting.  Be sure to make plans to attend.    CHEERLEADER/MASCOT TRYOUTS 

Are you interested in trying out for cheerleader or for Mo Hawk the mascot? All the information you need can be found on the BHS main webpage or the cheerleader webpage. Tryout packets will be due by March 14. We hope to see you at tryouts.    

GYMNASTICS NEWS 

Last Friday at the Keller Invitational, the boys team took a season high 3rd place team finish.  They were led by Ryan Graf who won the all-around, high bar and was second on vault and parallel bars. Strong performances were also turned in by Robert Enriquez, Daniel Hughes and Christian Santiago.This Friday the boys will compete against the Irving Schools at the Shannon Center at 6:30.Congratulate these boys on their hard work.   

LUNCH BUNCH 

There will be no LUNCH BUNCH this Wednesday, March 5^th due to TAKS Testing.   

RAWKIN’ HAWKS 

All people trying out for Rawkin’ Hawks, please check the Rawkin’ Hawks website for your interview time.   

ATTENDANCE VERIFICATION 

Teachers… please look in your boxes for your attendance verifications.  They are due back in the attendance office by 4pm Wednesday afternoon.   

STUDENT COUNCIL INFO FOR 2008-2009 

2008-2009 Student Council Officer Election packets are now available.  See Ms. Wilson (C402) or Mrs. Gomez (B201) for information.   

SENIORS – TAKS TEST INFO 

Tomorrow, March 5^th, the 9^th, 10^th, and 11^th grades will be taking the ELA TAKS Test.  Seniors do not have to report until 6^th period on this day.   

SENIOR PLANNING BOARD 

SPB will have a fashion show meeting this Tuesday in Ms. Anderson’s room, B301, during 3^rd lunch.   

FASHION SHOW 

Next week is the Annual Senior Fashion Show!!! Tickets will go on sale starting Monday during lunches.  Tickets are $3.  Please bring your money and plan to attend.    

HIGH ON LIFE 

High on Life has so many new changes for Spring 2008.  There’s a new sponsor, new leadership, and new FUN.  So come bring your ideas and see all the excitement on March 13^th at 7:45am or 3:30pm in A207.
