BPA 

Business Professionals of America attended their State Leadership Conference last week from Thursday-Saturday.  The following students placed at State: Adam Parker—1st in State in C++ Programming as a National QualifierBrian Bain—2nd in State in Advanced Spreadsheet & Analysis as a National QualifierSteven Davidson—8th in State in Integrated Office Applications as a National Alternate Congratulations to all the students that attended.  They were great representatives of Birdville High School.  Adam and Brian are on their way to National competition in May.  

COLORGUARD NEWS 

Once again, the Birdville “High Flyers” Colorguard returns with a trophy and the honor of representing BHS. The BHS Colorguard competed at Bowie HS on Saturday, March 8th. After receiving 2 promotions to higher level categories, this was the first competition at the Scholastic AA level. The Colorguard performed their greatest show to date receiving Third Place overall and the First Place Score in Ensemble Excellence. This season has been filled with much hard work and dedication from the members of this team which includes Top rankings in every event/contest thus far.Jan. 19th      Second Place (Regional A Class)Feb. 2nd      First Place (Regional A Class) and Promoted to Scholastic AAA ClassificationFeb. 16th     North Texas Regional Champion – Best in Class & Outstanding Choreography Award (Marching Auxiliaries of America)Feb. 22nd     First Place (Scholastic AAA Class) and Promoted to Scholastic AA ClassificationMar. 8th       Third Place (Scholastic AA Class)**The Birdville Colorguard Team invites everyone to their next competition, this Saturday March 15th, at Thomas Coliseum. Their performance will begin around 6:30pm. **March 29 & 30 Marching Auxiliaries National Championships (Ft. Worth Convention Center)** April 5  North Texas Colorguard Association Championships (South Grand Prairie HS)We thank all our friends, family and the BHS Administration for their continued support of this team.  

SCIENCE TAKS TUTORIALS 

The Science TAKS Tutorials – Lunch Bunch will be meeting in B401 on Wednesday again this week!  Come during second and third lunch!!!  

BLOOD DRIVE 

The Spring Blood Drive is this Wednesday, March 12th in the small gym.  You must be 17 years old to donate.  You can donate using your school ID.  Stop by room A 307 to make an appointment donate.  

CHEERLEADER/MASCOT TRYOUT INFO 

Are you interested in trying out for cheerleader or for Mo Hawk the mascot? All the information you need can be found on the BHS main webpage or the cheerleader webpage. Tryout packets will be due by March 14. We hope to see you at tryouts.   

OUTSTANDING CITIZEN AWARD 

Congratulations to Noah Buckelew and Whitney Gipson for being the recipient of the Outstanding Citizens Award for Birdville High School.  

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY 

Next meeting is Friday (March 14th) at 7:45am or 3:30pm in the Lecture Hall.  Seniors, please be prepared to give stole orders, but money is not required at this time.  

FASHION SHOW 

If you are interested in attending the annual Prom Fashion Show on Friday, March 14th, here’s the information you need: 1.   Tickets must be bought in advance this week during lunches.  No tickets will be available at the door.2.   ID is required to purchase ticket.3.   ID is required to enter the show on Friday.4.   Freshmen & Sophomores will attend the 3rd period show.5.   Juniors & Seniors will attend the 4th period show.6.   Your 3rd or 4th period teacher has the final say on whether you may miss class on Friday, so check BEFORE you buy your ticket.  All sales are final.
