LADY HAWKS SOCCER – PLAYOFF NEWS!!!

Congratulations to the Lady Hawk Soccer Team for a hard fought 1-0 win vs Abilene Wylie last night.

Coach Brown and the team would like to thank all those who came out and supported the team.

HOCKEY NEWS

Hockey News……………. Birdville Hawks Hockey defeated Arlington Wild 5-3 in an overtime shootout 2-1. 

Birdville Hawks Hockey are going to the Playoffs………….. stay tuned for more details.

VARSITY BASEBALL – GAME TIME CHANGE

The Birdville High School Varsity Baseball game scheduled for tonight March 25th at 7:30 has been rescheduled for a 5:00 start at Boswell High School.  It has been moved up due to light issues.

PALS ANNOUNCEMENT

If you are a junior or sophomore interested in becoming a PAL next year, please come to Mrs. Gomez’ room 201B to pick up a packet.  A Peer Assistance and Leadership informational meeting will be this Wednesday March 26th before and after school in room 201B.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS

Volunteers are needed for MANY activities in the next few weeks, including the UIL District Academic Meet at BHS this Saturday.  Please see the information posted outside C402.

SENIORS

Prom Awards voting will be in the cafeteria Wednesday and Thursday during lunches.  If you have not received a scratch ballot (they were distributed in the Government or Economics classes), see Ms. Wilson in C402.

STUDENT COUNCIL OFFICER CANDIDATES

Campaign speeches will be videotaped Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 in C402.  If you have questions, see Ms. Wilson.

ONE ACT PLAY NEWS

BHS Theatre competed in the Zone level competition of UIL One Act Play Contest on Monday, March 17, 2008 and was one of two plays out of four to advance to the next level of competition, the District Level.  Our “Flowers for Algernon” cast and crew received the following awards for their outstanding work: Most outstanding Crew member:  Stevie CarpenterHonorable Mention All Star Cast:  Chloe Day, Jordan CarpenterAll Star Cast:  Jessica Taylor, Bethany NarvaezBest Actress:  Brie KellyBest Actor: Garrett Sullivan The cast and crew competes again on Tuesday, March 25 on the UIL One Act Play District level at Saginaw High School.  The plays are open to the public and will run from 2 pm – 6 pm with BHS expected to perform between 4 pm – 6pm. The other advancing play was from Brewer High School called, “All in Disguise.”

THEATRE ANNOUNCEMENT

BHS Theatre invites you to an evening of entertaining comedy and drama this Thursday, March 27 starting at 6:45 PM in the BHS theatre.  Admission is free to see 3 student directed comedies and one drama, directed by Mr. Williamson.  Come see what the theatre students have been working on in and out of class and enjoy the entertainment free of charge.
