READY, SET, TEACH!

Attention applicants for Ready, Set, Teach!  If you have not turned in your application, please do so soon.  Be sure to sign up for an interview also.  Those of you who are interviewing, there have been some changes made on the interview schedule.  Please stop by A203 to confirm your interview or reschedule.  Because this course has a limited number of seats, be sure to stop by and pick up an application from A203 ASAP if you are considering adding this to next year’s schedule!

PROM TICKET SALES

 Next week, Tuesday, April 15th through Friday, April 18th in the front foyer before or after school only.  Cost is $75 each; no checks accepted.

In order to purchase a ticket, each student must show his/her BHS ID.  If your date is not a BHS student, a copy of his/her driver’s license must be presented at time of purchase.  If you want to reserve a table, you must have the full amount to pay for all 10 people at that time.  No exceptions.  You will vote for Prom King/Queen at time of ticket purchase.  Questions???  See Nurse Amy in the clinic.

FOOTBALL BANQUET

The Varsity football players (Seniors) that have not picked up their invitation to the football banquet need to come by the coach’s office and pick one up from Coach Basinger.

GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS

All seniors who have a zero balance with Herff Jones may check with Mrs. Rippy in C200 for your announcements, but you must not owe any money.  If you owe money, you must contact Herff Jones in Ft. Worth for payment and pick-up.

GOLDEN MOTION AUDITIONS

GOLDEN MOTION DRILL TEAM AUDITIONS ARE COMING SOON !!  IF YOU HAVE A PASSION FOR DANCE, LOVE TO PERFORM, AND WANT TO BE A PART OF THIS AMAZING DANCE TEAM, STOP BY THE DANCE ROOM AND PICK UP A PACKET FROM MRS. HANSEN THIS WEEK BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL. THERE IS A MANDATORY MEETING FOR ALL PARENTS OF STUDENTS AUDITIONING ON APRIL 7TH AT 7:00PM.  THE AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD APRIL 21ST- 24TH. IF YOU’VE EVER THOUGHT THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE A PART OF THIS TEAM – PLEASE COME AND TRY OUT!!!  SEE MRS. HANSEN OR ANY GOLDEN MOTION DANCER FOR MORE INFORMATION.

If you orderd or sold flowers in the BHS French and Theatre flower fundraiser, please pick up your flowers for delivery this Saturday, April 5th from 12:00 noon until 2 PM.  They will be in the parking lot at the front of BHS near the fine arts entry doors.  Look for the flower trailer.

MASCOT VOTING

Mascot voting for 2008-2009 is taking place today during all three lunches!  Come by the cafeteria stage and vote!

TRACK ANNOUNCEMENT

All boys and girls track athletes competing at the district track meet: There will be a meeting today at 3:45pm about the district track meet.  Please do not miss it.

PALS

If you are interested in becoming a PAL there is still time.  We have extended the deadline for packets until April 4th. PALs applications can be picked up and turned in to room 201B. 

COUNSELING NEWS

Any student planning to attend Texas Tech needs to stop by and see their counselor ASAP. Also, ALL seniors: new local scholarships are arriving and they need to make time to come check them out before the deadlines are over. The challenge is on for the Class of ’08 to have MORE scholarships than last year’s seniors and they had over $4 million!!!

LADY HAWKS GOLF – DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

Say Congratulations to the Lady Swinging Hawks for winning for a third year in a row the Golf District Championship. That’s right, 3 years in a row. We call that a Dynasty were I come from. Congratulations go out to Tiffany Hambrick, Tori Martinez, Sloan McNulty, Rebecca Phariss and Abby Smith as these fine ladies move on to Regionals.

 COME WATCH THE LADY HAWK SOFTBALL TEAM BEAT SAGINAW ON FRIDAY AT 7PM.  THE GAME IS HERE SO COME SUPPORT YOUR LADY HAWK SOFTBALL TEAM.  ALSO, JV HAS A TOURNAMENT THIS WEEKEND… IT STARTS TODAY WITH A GAME AT HALTOM AT 5:30PM.  THEIR TOURNAMENT CONTINUES THROUGH SATURDAY.  IF YOU SEE ANY SOFTBALL GIRLS, WISH THEM LUCK ON THEIR GAME AND TOURNAMENT!

LADY HAWKS SOCCER – Season Wrap-Up

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE LADY HAWKS SOCCER TEAM ON A GREAT SEASON DESPITE A 1-0 LOSS THE STATES TOP RANKED RIDER RAIDERS.

THE LADIES FINISHED THE SEASON 23-3-5 INCLUDING 22 SHUTOUTS WHICH TIED THE NATIONAL RECORD SET BY PLANO SENIOR HIGH IN 1989.

COACH BROWN WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE LADIES FOR AN OUTSTANDING SEASON. THEIR PERSUIT OF EXCELLENCE HAS BEEN INSPIRING AND FOR THAT HE IS EXTREMELY PROUD OF ALL HIS GIRLS.

HE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE LADY HAWKS HAD SEVERAL LADIES NAMED TO THE DISTRICT 5-4A ALL DISTRICT TEAM

BISD HOCKEY

Birdville beat Bishop Lynch last night 6 to 2.

The Hawks had 24 shots on goal, and Bishop Lynch had 28.

Birdville’s Josh Skinner had one goal, Karl Akerhielm had two goals, Garrett Noel had two goals, and Tristan Pierce had one goal.

These goals were assisted by Garrett Noel, Casey Savage, Chris Genberg, Josh Skinner, Aaron Skinner, Zach Ambrose, Charles Dawson, and Tyler Marion.

Birdville goalie Jonathan Ayala had 26 saves.

Their next game will be Thursday, April 3rd… time, location, and opponent are TBA.
